Identification & Red Flags
What is human trafficking?
Human trafficking involves the acquisition or holding of human beings, through the use or threat of force, fraud or coercion, typically for the purpose of forced labor or commercial sex, or both.
If you think you have identified a victim of human trafficking, you should consider the following questions:
|
Do you live with your employer? |
|
How the person might react: In encountering victims you might notice a heightened sense of fear, lack of trust, little knowledge of trafficking laws or the rights afforded to trafficking victims, fear of law enforcement and immigration, inability to describe what has happened, and an emotional reaction that does not match the story.
